description

In this practice seminar, students learn about and experience hands-on the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) as an approach for sustainability transformation. To start, the origin of, motivation behind and content of the IDGs and their relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be introduced. This is followed by a series of applied exercises (in-class and homework) in which (elements of) key IDGs (e.g. self-awareness, taking others‘ perspectives, vision-building) are experienced by students themselves. Throughout the seminar, the case of cocoa production/chocolate consumption will be used as guiding example for sustainability transformation. The seminar takes place in form of three 2-hour sessions during the semester (15.6./29.6./6.7. 10:00-12:00) and three full days during the semester break (11.8./ 14.8./ 16.8. 10:00-16:00) on the Campus Westerberg. Participation in all sessions is obligatory. The grade will be composed of oral participation in the class exercises and discussions (50%) and a written documentation of key insights (following prespecified questions) (50%). Questions on the seminar can be sent to bee-teaching@uos.de.
